Not only does it excise in a much more uniform and expedient fashion leading to better graft take and appearance, but also can be used to harvest skin grafts without any concern for dermatome lacerations and a consistent depth. Utilizing the Amalgatome drastically increases operative efficiency which leads to less OR time and costs as well as less blood loss and better excision leading to better care for our patients.
