Clinical summary and white paper on Amalgatome® SD vs. conventional dermatome use
Recently a retrospective clinical animal study was released with the goal to measure viability of skin grafts, thickness and consistency of excised grafts, time to granulation and re-epithelialization, donor site, and device ease of use. The studies used the Exsurco Medical
Amalgatome® SD with a Rotating Excision Ring™ blade and conventional dermatomes to harvest split skin grafts and excision of necrosis. Upon study completion it was determined that the Amalgatome SD was superior when evaluating:
- Consistency of the thickness of excised tissues (which are important to wound healing process)
